About Knut-Edvart

I'm Knut-Edvart Ellingsen. I started this site as a personal place to share my interests in computer science, programming and the web. It first appeared in 2002, and this new version brings those interests together in a more useful form.

My interests include artificial intelligence and evolutionary computing. In 2003, Manuel Penaloza and I published A Genetic Algorithm Approach for Finding a Good Course Schedule. You can read about the research here.

I also work on practical website problems. This site is a place to share clear explanations, working code examples and simple tools as I build them.

Why Knut-Edvart?

It's my name. The domain has been part of my personal web presence for many years, and I wanted the new site to retain that personal connection.
